Goodman Contractors Limited (Goodmans) is a family operated Civil Engineering Contracting company situated in Waikanae. The business was started by Rick and his brother in 1963. 30 years later Rick's sons and daughter returned to the business with Rick.

Goodmans employs administration staff, quality assurance staff, surveyors, machine operators, fitter welders and mechanics.

Machinery owned by Goodmans includes various excavators, dumpers, motorscrapers, bulldozers, graders, rollers, compactors, loaders, watercarts and trucks. They range in size from 4 tonne to 69 tonne catering for a range of different work. All plant is fitted with Roll Over Protection cabs and is part of a regular servicing and maintenance programme administered by inhouse mechanics.

Goodmans has a documented business system in place including Quality, Health & Safey, and Environmental components. Current certification includes ISO9001:2008 registration, Transit prequalification to 4A, ACC WSMP secondary accrediation, and membership of various other safety and industry organisations.
